Just in time for a little trip... (incoming)
I took delivery of this old piece
I was "this" close to pick one up back in 1999, at an event where I got to meet Kurt Klaus by the way, but at the end I opted for a Submariner 16610. That Sub is of course still with me but I figured it was time to give this Aquatimer GST in titanium (3536-01) a try. It arrived this morning, found another classic during lunch grab a quick wristshot. The bracelet adjustment is a bit tricky to start with but once adjusted the watch is supremely comfortable on the wrist. Clearly in the less-is-more genre that I so love (like my Explorer 114270 etc). This is a perfect example of what IWC produced pre-Richemont group - classic, no nonsense and timeless. I also ordered the velcro strap from the boutique in NYC (such nice and helpful people) It is not my first GST watch, I used to own the Deep One But I had too much trouble with the depth guage (technically very complex). It is piece that is more cool to own than practical in real life. I'm heading out for a trip tomorrow and you can count on this watch joining me for the journey! :-) Cheers, Patrick |

Landed earlier today at the first destination. Got in a taxi to the hotel, which was a bit more like a Cannonball race over some curvy roads up and down mountains. Then I noticed the base position of the steering wheel - this is while going straight forward, mind you...
