Used to hate watches, I thought that Rolex was a show off thing that I did not need, then I tried one on and I knew I wanted one. Same happened with Porsche and with many other things in my life, I'm learning not to take myself seriously when I say something.

I had always wanted one, and realised that the bit of spare cash I had would not survive incoming kids and associated life choices so had to go for it there and then. No regrets, if I look at the cost on a "per-smile" basis, it is the best thing I ever purchased.

First one was college graduation present (GMT Coke).
Second one was out-of-the-blue gift to myself, having walked into a Rolex boutique (DSSD).
Third one was to commemorate new job (Daytona TT).
Fourth one was BNIB located at pawn shop, was good deal so went for it (Oyster).

So there's always a different reason in my case, I guess.
