Hello...newbie question

Hello All,

I am new to the forum, I came on here to find some info. I have been an active Rolex lover for some time now. I own a S series Datejust and my favorite A series AirKing (my daily wrist friend)...I also have a cartier santos ronde TT and a Longines 4star gold admiral from 1977.

My question is this...all of my timepiece purchases have been on the secondary market. I was wondering if the factory Rolex warranty is transferable or does it die when it changes hands?

Also where can I find a Serti dial for a newest GMT IIc? or will the past dials fit?

thanks

Ryan

I had my brother-in-law purchase my SS GMT IIc for me in Florida (he lives there), as he was coming to visit me within a week. The price difference is fairly substantial. As I was on the phone with the AD while my brother in law was making the purchase, and I asked if the warranty could go in my name, and she said "no". I said will there be any problem with me sending it in for warranty work within the 2 years and she "no". I was taking her word for it, but after reading so many different stories here I was kinda getting worried.

But if you read the above link it seems pretty straight forward, no?

I'm still waiting for all the boxes and papers and warranty as my brother in law mailed them seperately instead of travelling with them, so I am unable to read the warranty.

Any thoughts?

You know, you just can't believe everything you read in the internet..

Here is the Rolex USA Warranty.

If you have an "International" warranty, the RUSA will require an invoice to prove you were the purchaser of that warranty:

Tools,......... your not helping any.
I was getting my hopes up.
So I guess all watches purchased as gifts for someone else have no warranty.

Sucks to be them,....... and me I guess.

Watches purchased as gifts are covered by the Rolex warranty, no worries about that

I did not buy my Rolex as a gift. Does that mean that it will not be covered by the warranty??

I recently bought a Rolex as a gift for a friend. I simply asked the AD to write my friend's name on the warranty card, and there was no problem.

I don't think the warranty is transferable.
