Daytona series question

I'm seriously considering getting a meteorite Daytona, and have been looking at two, one a F series and the other a Z series. I know that the Z has the newer hands and engraved rehaut, but other than that, does anyone know if there were any other differences between the two series. Of particular concern would be any changes in the movement (type of shock protection, parachrom or no parachrom spring etc.).

Rolex does not make a "series" of watches.. The letter prefix is simply the first digit of the serial number and Rolex never made any changes based on serial numbers..

All 11652x Daytona's have the 4130 movement with Parachrom hairspring and KIF shock system.

All 1652x Daytonas have the 4030 (Modified Zenith) movement - they do not have a parachrom hairspring..

The cosmetic changes you mention took place likely during the F and D releases on the Gold models and the Z models on the SS versions. Only the Gold models came with a Meteorite dial..
