GMT-Master II - color variations

Can anyone confirm that the red on the Pepsi bezel is a shade lighter than on the Black/Red version? I could swear the Pepsi red is slightly more 'orange' when both watches are side by side. I also have the impression that the GMT-Master I (16700 series) Pepsi dial has more saturated reds and blues.

Don't know about the GMT 1 but the red on the pepsi bezel is a brighter red and the black / red is more of a burgandy.

Yes, I agree with Robb. I've had both Red/Blue and Red/Black bezel inserts on my 16710 and noticed the differences also.

Also, insert colors fade over time.

I've seen a few GMT I - the red is much richer. Are the inserts compatible between the two watches? Would Rolex approve the switch?

Nope - not interchangeable. One has a sapphire crystal and the other has plastic. The inserts are slightly different.

Is that what they're calling the red and black? the "coke" bezel? makes me think of a red and white bezel (which of course doesn't exist).

My pepsi GMTII is 7 years newer than my std GMTII since red is the quickest color to fade, it's not an easy comparison for me to make live...

Can anyone do a side-by-side comparison of a GMT I/II (Pepsi)?
