I heard that you need proof of ownership of a yacht before rolex will sell you a yacht master....and that you need to have a yacht registered at some port when you send a yacht master in for service. If not they confiscate the watch and bring you up on charges at the yacht club. I've also been told that the booklet for the yacht master cautions against the ill effects of water and suggests that the watch be safely stowed below on all sails.

All the time. Pool and the Pacific Ocean. No worries.

Wear all of mine in all types of water - though I do rinse (shower) as soon as practical thereafter.

One additional caveat: I am not leery of wearing any gold jewelry in hot tubs as they may contain bromine - which is not friendly to gold.

Other than the above caveat, wear the darned things anywhere you would take you skin.

I have yacht with a pool and a yachtmaster. Kidding. At the end of the day all Rolexes are swim proof. Whether you have the Deep sea or the Daytona you can swim anywhere with any of them. In my opinion any Oyster is made for the water. Trust me any Rolex will survive you water wise.
