Safari on Diver Strap

Hey Guys,

I have posted about the unfortunate demise of my OEM AP Deployment Buckle and how I was using an OEM AP ROO Rubber Strap with an AP Bands Tang buckle. It was an adequate solution until I could figure out what I was going to do about the deployment buckle situation but the aftermarket buckle always kind of bugged me.

I recently acquired an OEM AP Diver Strap with the OEM Tang buckle. After owning a Panerai, strap changes have become almost a necessity for me. I also found, after wearing a Panerai, that the AP was much more traditional in its proportions and seemed quite narrow at the buckle. In fact, after a year and half of wearing the AP, I had gotten used to the more traditional proportions of the AP strap, so, the diver was a bit of a shock in that it is quite wide throughout its length, much like a Panerai. It's been done before (putting a diver strap on other ROOs) but I'm posting another one. I rather like it.

As an aside, I was at an AP AD about a week and a half ago and ordered a new deployment buckle. While I was there, I was able to browse their selection of straps. When I go to pick up my new buckle, I will be putting something a little different on the Safari. More to come!

I prefer the wider Diver strap size, would prefer the other ROOs to have less taper.

Safari needs the brown leather strap to complete the look and bring out the dial - on a black rubber the safari loses its identity and character. That's the problem with the safari - there isn't much strap options that can complement the light creamy dial.

Looks good!
When I had my Safari I liked it on the standard rubber with deployment. That was before the Diver came out. Diver's strap is WAY more comfortable.

One of the things that I find mesmerizing about the safari is the dial combo with the hornback brown stap. I wouldn't change it but that's just me. My humble opinion.

I love hearing everyone's differing opinions.

The reason I bought the Safari was the creamy dial and the brown strap. Having said that, I really liked how the Safari looked on a black strap. I found that the black strap really brought out the black numerals on the dial.

Like I said, once you've started changing straps with Panerai, you start experimenting with your other options. I still have the brown and will go back at some point. I liked the rubber for the summer and I find the diver REALLY comfortable.

Thanks guys.
