Tudor Ranger
Hi,
Can anyone help please. I have been offered a Tudor Ranger 17J manual wind with Rose. Did they come with the manual wind? Also I noticed that the case back is somewhat flat, is this correct? Lastly are they 'boy' sized? Thanks for your help, Chris |

Welcome to TRF, Chris!
Sorry, although I love Tudor watches, I am not that much into their various models and specifications. But there are many Tudor experts here so I guess you will get good and precise information soon. Enjoy your stay here!

I am not an expert on these, but I know for sure that they are being faked. Be careful

The Tudor Rangers that I am familiar with are automatic, not manual wind. I have one with a case dated in the mid 1950's. I have never seen a manual wind, but my early one is 34 mm, which could be considered "boy sized." The current trend is to take any random Tudor, redo the dial, put current manufacture Ranger hands on it and sell it as a Ranger. The "RED Rangers" are all fake, as Tudor (to my knowledge and I have searched) NEVER put "Ranger " in red letters on a dial. I will find a great source, written in Chinese, but with the best selection of vintage Tudor Rangers that I have seen. It was on this forum. Will get back to you.

Go to "bagel" 's post of 18 May, 2007 using above "Search" button. His post has addresses for several sites. Go to the www.007.upp.so-net,etc. site. It has the evolution of the Ranger with comparative analysis. Not bad. The Tudor Ranger site that had the best pics is changed, being in Chinese I don't know why. Now only has one pic of a Ranger. It is the www.star.ap. teacup site. Ther are several others referenced but those are the best for Tudor Rangers. Semper Fi, Rick
