Another Minnesota welcome. Congrats on your upcoming child. It truly is the most special thing that can happen in life. We have a 3-year-old and he is truly my pride and joy. When I read this in your first post, "I am going to look into selling the watch to save up for the baby." I was going to jokingly ask you which AD you'll be getting your baby at, Baby Depot? Babies R Us?
Insofar as selling your Rolex, David is right, hopefully you still have all the boxes/paperwork from your original purchase. When you said, "there are plenty of watches for sale for what I would be able to pay" did you mean that you would sell your DJ and buy another Rolex that you prefer more? I'm just curious.
