Daytona may be more appropriate. But, if you cook it for 10 minutes exactly, you should use the YMII.

I used to use my Sub to time the laundry, but that was before Mrs EEH100773 fired me from that job and took it over for herself.

Wow that is
I didn't know you had an LV
Very nice piece, and a great choice that only comes with experience.

As for the steaks, this is crazy but I woke up last night at 4am feeling restless and turned on the radio. I caught the last minute of a radio interview of Heston Bluminfeld a very famous chef from Europe. He said next time you cook a steak, instead of cooking it on one side and then the other, to turn the steak every 15 seconds. He said the results will be amazing. Now I haven't tried it, but it sounds to me like a rotisserie kind of cooking without a rotisserie. Anyway that is my tip for the day.

Personally, I use the George Foreman grill and it cooks both sides at once

Actually, neither the Daytona nor the YMII are better than the Sub at timing something like a steak, because one does not require precise timing and in fact, none are ideal for timing steaks.

The best instrument for cooking is a countdown timer, which of course, the YMII is, but it is limited to intervals of ten minutes, which may or may not be sufficient, depending on a multitude of variables.

But of course, any timekeeping device will do in a pinch and the Sub is quite capable of helping the alert cook to do his job.

I know these things because I am a volunteer burger flipper the Lobo Wing of the Commemorative Air Force.

Oh, and I own a Sub, various chronographs, and I have a countdown timer on my smartphone.

Assume that they have been resting for a while or do you eat shoesoles?

btw, I am always timing my steaks with a Sub: 3 minutes each side and then another 3 minutes cooking with the closed lid - burners to min.
