Not sure if it had anything to do with Pro-Hunter, but someone posted a modded deep sea here not long ago. It came in a big case, and they swapped certain parts out and made them blue. I think they called it Deep Blue? Only one I've seen I thought looked kind of cool. Still wouldn't drop money on it though.

The scratch thing would be a bit scarry to me. A big shiny hairline on something that is all black other wise.
Does anybody now how they fair in real life in regards to this happening or not happening with these watches?

I wasn't a fan until I saw one in the flesh and it changed my opinion. I wouldn't want one as part of a smaller watch collection, but if money was no object and I already had the pieces I was looking for, I definitely would add a Pro Hunter Sub or Daytona.

I wonder if the reaplication costs are included or if that might be an extra charge?

I've seen one pic of Pro Hunter 216570 EXP-II and it looks awesome.

Does this coating actually make the watch tougher ? In the sense that is it less likely to dent or scratch ?
If it does make the watch more resistance then I would probably consider getting an Explorer II done this way as a "beater" watch. However if it's just a fashion statement then screw it. |

i think they are very cool, especially these few, i have been thinking of picking up an exp2 and have Jack at International Watch Works at a dlc finish to it, as pro hunter is way over priced

pro hunter is not my style, however, if i had an extreme adventure planned, I think one of these would be perfect!

This member has a 'blacked out' Daytona, but the work was done by Project X and not Prohunter...

it is hard for me to think about dropping the extra loot on one of these. that said, i think they are really good looking watches. if money were not an option, i would by one in an instant. and...i bet it might very well be my favorite.
that said, i don't have the king of loot to make the gamble. i suppose that means i just need to keep humping and shaking. time to make the doughnuts.

I like them- I think they are way cool. The price is steep- but my collection WILL
have a blacked out model- but I'm thinking I'll make my own!!!

My Pro Hunter is now 6 years old and still unmarked. For this reason I love the DLC treatment but am less keen on the other mods. It always used to bug me how easily my Subs scratched. Not this one. I wish Rolex would offer DLC or else ice hardened cases.

Got to see one of these in the flesh at a GTG in Carmel, CA.

I bought one off ebay and turned out to be a really good fake. I got my $ back and got to keep it. It's now my 10 year olds beater.

Would love to own a PVD Sub. Great for wearing in 3rd world countries. Better to fly under the radar than to risk getting your hand chopped off for your Rolex.
