But let's not forget that Rolex are a superb watch too, and serious collectors always have one (or more! ) in their collection.
i notice quite a few chrono hands dont line up exactly, which shoud really bother my OCD...but, for some reason, i am more forgiving on an AP

though, i wonder if they can be adjusted to line up perfectly

The hands line up perfectly on my offshore chronos. Its the actual subdials that are not evenly spaced.

This is the best shot I have right now but you can see how the 12 o'clock and 9 o'clock sub dials are closer together than the 9 o'clock and the 6 o'clock sub dials.

interesting, i never noticed the spacing before - but have seen several where the hands are just a bit misaliged, including the large chrono hand.

my daytona hand is slightly off too, though.

I have a hard time trying to associate AP watches with the word "cheap looking". You really should go and check out one in real life. Photos sometimes don't do these watch justice, although I often try.

I agree with most of the comments to see the watch in person.. I saw 3 APs on the window, yes, only window without touching and i was blown away..

There are some that are over 10,000 Euro and look great. But they look to have the build and finish of an average 500 Euro Tissot or something.

p.s. The nicest watch I have ever seen and love is one of the AP Grande Complications! So I am in no way an 'AP hater' or something.

Yes its about brand. The truth is, when the company brand is high, they can sell for even higher price. A tissot perhaps cost 100-200 dollars, and they sell it for 500 dollars.

AP with around 800-1000 dollars cost of production, they can sell it for 15,000-18,000 dollars or even more.

(the amount is not real, just an example)

This is about the brand.

A good watch brand most of the time make a beautiful movement or design. A tissot who have lower price may have more accuracy due to quartz (battery) movement, however the art is not about the accuracy itself, its about the brand, material, design and the movement inside the watch.

If i may add I have had both my rolex's and AP's serviced. One thing I believe is that you are not just buying a watch but WHO stands behind it. RSC is nice but I don't have a clue is working on my watch and I am just a number. My AP experience was amazing. I have one contact person (Betsy) who is close to available anytime I had a question. I love AP and will continue to give them my business.

Both Rolex and AP either in picture or in person can't be compared, it's like comparing Mercedez Benz with Rolls Royce or Bentley.

I agree 100%.

Customer service from AP is top notch. I've had the pleasure of dealing with Betsy for service, John for parts, and Jasmine for events. They are all wonderful people and really make you feel like they value you as a person and as a life long customer. The quality and attention to detail in the watches is a reflection of every aspect of the company and their employees.

The finish of an AP is by far superior to Rolex.
