Thats the watch on the description, the question is, is it solid gold or hollow?

I believe the Bracelet has hollow center links, the rest solid?

weird i called the shop and they said its all solid O_o and said that in 1999 they stopped producing hollow

The watch is solid gold and so is the clasp. But for anyone to say they know whether the bracelet's center links are solid or hollow, they would need to inspect the timepiece in question.

The reason is anyone can swap a bracelet during a watch's lifetime. So even a 2001-ish YM may have an older bracelet attached.

But if you trust the shop selling it, then you have your answer already...you said they claimed it was solid gold...

however, even if the center links are hollow, doesn't mean its not "solid gold" as the hollow center links are still constructed of solid gold, the statement would be true. differentiation being, you are not trying to buy something gold filled or gold plated

It's still solid gold, links are just constructed from shaped tubes Made from solid 18ct. New links are solid all the way through the link has no tubing used, just one piece of gold shaped and holes for screws drilled out.

I recently bought a P serial numbered 16628 and made sure before buying if the center links were solid, which they were as well as solid endlinks. After researching here and elsewhere it seems that the gold YM's have always had solid center links....the TT YM's had hollow ones. This is for the YM...not the YMII's. At least as far as I can determine...and of course this assumes the bracelet is original to the watch!

They (AD) tell you it's solid gold. The right terminology I feel should be solid gold hollow links or solid links. They are hollow links made of solid gold. Some manufacturers wrap a thin piece of gold over ss links.

This Internet term "hollow link" is a complete and utter misnomer all it means in the real world, is simply this. All the links are made from heavy solid gold or solid S.steel tubing and then formed into shape in a press. This leaves a void in the center, just like any other piece of tube.. However, the tubes are still made from solid 18Ct gold or solid S.Steel.

While the newer so called solid link bracelet might feel more substantial the newer type or so called solid links are still machined, but they are machined with holes drilled right through the metal. So in the real world they are as well technically hollow but not to the same extent as the older type.And in every day wearing would doubt if any real difference in strength or longevity of life as long as you keep them clean. Thats the simple answer in the life of any Rolex oyster bracelet keep it clean and they will last 20-30 years plus.Even the older type Oyster bracelets have been stress tested and will take 525 lbs pressure before breaking and that's enough to seriously damage your wrist.

They rip you off on the 'solid' case, because it's littered with handy (for them $$££) pockets of air, unlike the steel ones, where you get a proper 'ingot'. Typical. This put me off ever buying a gold one.

my thoughts , , if any watch was made from solid gold , they couldnt get the movement in ,,,, lol .
i think they argue that a solid case would be too heavy so they take away some of that nasty gold to be kind. i wonder if the platinum is the same , im guessing it would be.

Yes all precious metal cases all brands are made in a very similar way with the modern day watches since the 1980s

Find out the weight of the non-gold parts (movement, crystal, etc.). If it's solid 18 carat gold then it should weigh a specific amount if it's solid gold & it should weigh less if it has hollow links.
Off the top of my head I don't know what the weight of 18 carat gold is.
