Curious if these are franken watches?

I don't want to bring this guy down if I am off here as he seems like a very nice gentleman. I am thinking of buying a couple of these presidents from him as gifts for a couple of our sales employees. They have never had a Rolex and I think they would be more than happy with something like this as a 1st Rolex. {decent starter in my opinion} My questions are as follows...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rolex-Mens-D...item27da3340d5

1. Is it common for these type of sellers to refurbish watches?

2. Do they typically use aftermarket parts?

3. 3 available of the exact same watch ?

I understand the straps are generic as well as the buckle and my concerns lie inside of the watch. Particularly using after market parts in regard to the movement.

Crown I figured you could chime in on this as day dates are your forte

Mods if this is a no go type of post feel free to remove and my apologies.. I have been tire kicking this for awhile now.

well he states they are all authentic and it looks OK, depends if you get what you order.
i would give him the benefit of the doubt, and if there is a doubt you can file a paypal claim.

they are priced too high too, these should only be about 3-4k in my opinion from what ive seen

Rolex won't service watch unless they replace the dial at your expense because of this:

"Dial Custom Chanpagne Daimond"

1. Is it common for these type of sellers to refurbish watches? very common, that dial is a newer style and not original this is very common as they want the watch to look newer, just watchout for complete custom dials, some are made from scratch, cut out of brass etc, never seen a rolex factory, can can cause problems as they do not fit properly, some dials are repainted original dials with diamonds added, these are better imho, although i do not use aftermarket parts at all.

2. Do they typically use aftermarket parts? proper band will set you back $250 for gold plated original buckle and rolex leather band, about 8.5k for a replacement gold band and that is why they don't do this, they will not get that money for it

3. 3 available of the exact same watch ? same dial added, and same model so look the same, hopefully different pictures of that exact watch? check this.

I understand the straps are generic as well as the buckle and my concerns lie inside of the watch. Particularly using after market parts in regard to the movement.
if they used aftermarket main spring you will never know unless you get a watchmaker to remove the mainspring from the barrel . They usually use aftermaket crystals and seals also and crown tube so watch out, they want to get these watches out as cheap as possible.

Crown I figured you could chime in on this as day dates are your forte

+1.

4k possible for a single QS at wholesale level. At retail level, 4k can get a 180x non QS.
