Thoughts on signed buckles and leather bands

I seem to be working very hard to find exactly the band I want and retain a signed 16mm buckle that I have picked up. If I said screw it and just went with an 18mm buckle from the band manufacturer, my life would be easy. How much value does TRF place on Rolex signed buckles? I'm thinking I'm working too hard here.

I've done both. Depends on the strap.

The 16mm buckle does limit your choices but the choices are still pretty nice.

That black perforated strap is amazing looking.

It's amazing. Nicest band I've seen and works flawlessly on that piece.

I'd put on what you want and not worry so much about what others think, even TRF...

Yes, you are working too hard... Nobody on TRF is likely to see your buckle or comment on it.. Put on what you want, not what you may think that others may like..

It's nice, but not necessary. I wear what looks good, and it makes me happy.

I think I've found what I'm looking for. I ordered a navy blue Hirsch London strap today. I had a navy blue strap come in yesterday that I had ordered but it just wasn't the right color. The Hirsch is almost twice as much as the other strap but I'm pretty sure it's the band I'm looking for. One of the only bands I can find with a taper from 20mm to 16mm in navy blue even though they don't tell you this immediately in the descriptions. I emailed rios1931 about a strap that kilyung suggested but they never wrote me back. I'll post pics when the hirsch comes in. I'll be sure to leave the buckle out of it.

You'd pay a little more, but I thought that one could order custom Hirsch straps.

This is true but I'm not entirely sure I'm going down the right road by going with a navy strap on YG with a white dial just yet. I can still return the strap if it doesn't look right. If I go with a custom band I'm stuck if the color is not right for the watch. Also I've been told the wait is about 12 weeks or so. I don't think I have that kind of patience.

There are many bespoke handcrafted straps made to your specs. The original Rolex buckle has more value than other generics.

Are all Rolex buckles 16mm? Or can you source another one at 18mm-20mm to widen your strap options? Sounds like you may have already found you strap, just curious if larger buckles are an option.
