wierd diver situation

not sure if this is normal but I noticed when setting the time on my diver, after going one full revolution feeling like butter the second time around its gets real gritty and the minute hand starts to jump time like if the gear is skipping a tooth. has anyone experienced this? need your help. tanks in advance

Mine the same, don't know why but as long as it doesn't hurt, I don't mind. Still, if someone has any clue to share why, that would be great.

I think there were some thread about this way back...there maybe something wrong--can't remember what the cause was.

Worth running to AD or Clearwater.

Or screwing the crown back in?

It's normal.

It goes 'gritty' when the mechanism is fully wound. If you let it run flat and then wind it - you will notice it will not go 'gritty' until after 20 or so turns.

It's not causing any damage and just stopping the mechanism from over winding - so don't panic.

When screwing the crown in it also continues to wind the mechanism so you also experience it then.

I am not sure what you mean by the minute hand jumping - do you mean when you push the crown back in?

I think he gets the gritty feel when he sets his time... Not sure though, but if so there's something wrong.

The minute hand shouldn't be moving when you wind the watch.

When setting the time it should be totally smooth.

I had the same. After a year the watch was stopping. I just got it back from being sent in for service under warranty. Stated cause was the movement did not have enough lube. They said they cleaned and serviced the movement. Working fine but it's only been 12 hours.

sorry. to clarify, its when setting the time. but i got a second opinion and found that the watych was over wound. not sure why it would affect settign time but i guess it does. i let it sit for a day and then tried it and it was like butter. weird but im glad my baby is ok
