Pre-Owned Yachtmaster
I am a first time buyer looking to purchase a Rolex Yachtmaster for my husband. I came across a Pre-Owned Rolex Platinum and Stainless Steel Yachtmaster Automatic circa 2003 Sport 40mm for $9400, just wondering if that is a decent price? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

TRF is a discussion forum, not really a shopping channel..
However, I think that a 10 year old SS Yachtmaster should be a couple of thousand less than that, or even less, depending on condition.. (the only thing platinum on them is the bezel and dial.)

Look on our classified section here. $9400 is several thousand too high.

Way too high. My pre-owned 2003 was $6,500. Look on the classifieds here. Good luck.

I like the watch you are looking at, and may own it one day. Older ones in average condition seem to be $5000 to $6000 from the good sellers here. If you want a bit newer or better condition, you can see some really nice ones from $6,500 up to $8,000. I think when I first saw this watch at the dealer it was like $10,500 or $11,000. I haven't bought yet, but would not pay near retail for it.

Agree with Larry.
Recently one of the most reliable dealer of ebay sold a new version YM 116622 blue dial year 2013 barely used for $ 8,500 with 21 bids. With this information you can draw your conclusions. I clarify that it is not for shopping but our mission here in the forum is trying to help each other. |

Welcome to TRF. You can search on E-Bay sold listings to see relative values. Also in the For Sale area, when a sold notice is posted, you can see what the listed price was and guess where the final price landed or if there were any price reductions.

I would find a trusted seller here for sure. That price is way too high.

Awesome watch! I basically bought the same watch (used, year, model) for myself for becoming a father / gift to hand down to my son. It's my first and (still my) only Rolex.
As other have mentioned, that price seems way too much for that year. I bought mine here from a reputable seller for a couple thousand less and had a great experience. |
