1675 Bezel Popped Off!!! Advice Please!!!

This morning I dropped a 1675 on the bathroom floor. It landed flat on its face. When it hit, the bezel popped off and landed a couple of feet away. The bezel and insert were in one piece and there was an inner ring close by. I put them together and snapped them back on the watch. They seem to be pretty firmly on board. Bezel rotates with the same amount of tension as before I dropped it. Questions:
1. I did not see or find an inner bezel retaining spring (???) as found on later incarnations that I have seen on the "Change your own bezel insert" threads. Does the 1675 have one?

2. Should I take it in to the AD to have the bezel checked out? The watch is running fine.

Thanks for your expert input!

There are three parts to that assembly. The bezel, the insert and an inner tension ring,it goes between the case and the bezel. Its all pressure fitted, there's no small clicky spring like in newer models.Hope that helps

I would take it to your watchmaker. It's possible the bezel or crystal retaining ring are worn. It can't hurt to have someone give it a once over. More than likely it's fine though

Sounds ok. There are only those three parts. The tension spring is that little ring. Monitor it for the next few days, See if it is gaining or losing time any differently then before. If so then take it to a place to have it checked. They can take some abuse.

Sounds like it's probably okay if it snapped back on and rotates as before.

The tension ring could have been in your bezel and you didn't notice it. It could also have been on the watch pressed down tight against the crystal retaining ring which they also seem to do. Lastly, I've seen GMTs and Subs before that have had the tension ring removed so the possibility exists that you did not have a tension ring.

Thanks for all responses! I definitely need to avoid taking it off in the bathroom. I'll have the AD check the bezel, tension ring and crystal. Hopefully, it still keeps good time.

Your baby seems to have survived this one OK.

Many, many, many more watches are hurt from falling on the bath floor than from being under the shower they intended to avoid.

Besides, a vigorous wipe with a soapy sponge will keep the bracelet clean and save metal wear.

Of course, just my humble opinion.

P.S. for dysondiver: kitchen slabs are not much kinder...
