The Sub test

Hi all, I came across this one year old article on Forbes which talked about using the Sub as a benchmark while deciding the value of of other watches.

The article also mentioned that the hands and hour indicators are made of 18K white gold, this is the first time that I hear this information, can you gents verify it?

Yes, white gold hands and hour markers are standard for Rolex.
