Advice: stay away.

Costly to replace battery, will be very hard to sell.

Resale value shouldn't be a concern if he plans on keeping that watch but it is most indeed something to consider. Even there, my major problem with that watch would be the cost of having the battery replaced.

Ap would probably charge a fortune for it. An independant watchmaker that is careful would do it for much less but one must be careful. I've heard numerous stories of clerks (I don't mean to offend them) accidently scratching coils whilst replacing batteries too quickly or opening casebacks. I'd hate to imagine the costs of such a repair should this happen (that is, if AP still has any of these parts left in their inventory).
