Dinner in Monterrey Mexico

At a great place in Monterrey Mexico called "La Escondida".

Small tomato soup de bienvenida
Queso fundido con chorizo (melted cheese with ground sausage)
Tortilla soup
Enchiladas of chicken and filet with red and black mole
Dessert was a coconut cake with carmel sauce.
Digestif was a pair of Tequilas (Maestro Dobel Diamonte and Don Julio '70)

And pix of the drinks. I almost forgot! I have a strong preference for the Maestro Dobel Diamonte. Very, very smooth. The lower two bottles are encased in ice laced with various fruits. I really liked the presentation. BTW, the prices are not too bad and the service was outstanding.

You're right. Im in Crisis Management. Although the city of Monterrey has certainly gotten noticeably better over the past 1.5 years because they fired over 1/2 of the police department, it still has issues. The cops have been replaced with the better selected and better trained x-military. Many of these X-cops who were corrupt while in uniform, now freelance with all the time they have on their hands.

This bump in security in Monterrey has caused crime displacement sufficient enough to demonstrate a high criminal growth in the areas outside the city.

Crime didn't go away, it just moved. Still a lot of kidnap, extortion, murder, death threats going on, just in new places that are not prepared to deal with it.

I feel safe somewhat in Mexico City where another sister lives. Ive never had a problem they live in Polanco area of the city about 2 blocs from Avenida Presidente Masaryk kind of the Rodeo drive of Mexico City. I walk around with a 12k Rolex nobody notices.....I would not in most other areas of D.F.

Very nice! I visited Monterrey in 2009 for business and enjoyed the "cabrito" (grilled goat).
