I would pick the GMT in this situation.

Sub looks good in a suit as does the GMT, so I would get either one, and then a DJ after that. I think what your subconscious is really saying is that you need at least 2 Rolexes... but start with the one that sings loudest to you.

I'd guess that black Romans or the white sticks since they are both so versatile. Also which GMT, the all black or BLNR?
Thank you. I was choosing between the grey dial with Romans on DJII and black ss GMT.

Hi... Im kinda new in rolex world so im sorry if i give u guys different opinion. To those who believe that subc is fit for suit, will think that gmtiic will fit too. Why? Because both watches are identical (beside the bracelet and bezel, people will hard to recognize what u wearing from afar). Thats why i choose to own gmt rootbeer 16713 than gmtiic because i already have subc with me. Different story if you choose to own black blue gmt iic.

I also feel that between three of your choice, djii with fluted bezel will be wonderful and fit better for a formal suit. But if i were you i will choose what you think the best instead of listening to all of us. It makes you getting more confused.

There is no wrong decision. When I have been in between two choices, I have asked to sales person to take pictures so I can look and ponder later. This helps if the lighting is good.

You really can't go wrong either way, all 3 are great and for different reasons. If you travel, you may find the GMT function handy.

Good luck and let us know what you decide

The one that you like the most is the one that will work best, regardless of your attire.

Since the two watches are similar buy the one you like the most. It's more of an emotional decision than a logical one.

So subjective and to echo others, one should 'sing' more than the others. I have not had a DJII, but have had both versions of the SubC (LN and LV) and a SS GMT and I personally enjoyed one of the Sub's over the GMT. I also wear suits 5-6 days a week but being in financial services, I did not like the 'shine' of the polished center links.....Again, personal opinion.
The one piece of advice I think most will agree on, is that if this is going to be your only Rolex for a time, hold off on the DJII. That is the least versatile of the three. Good luck with your decision and please post the results.

With a suit I would go GMT all the way. The PCL's really dress it up. And, I'm biased, but I really think the bezel with the 24 hr clock just looks better than the Sub's 60 min bezel, and you can still use the GMT as a stop watch if you like. Love the GMT extra hand, great for traveling

Get an Explorer 1 39mm! Great with suit, great with jeans & T shirt. Great at gun range.

If you have to have a date, get a black stick DJ2 or a white faced DJ2 w/ sticks, with either get the smooth bezel and you won't be screaming loud.

I had the GMT2C and the PCL's just irritated me and I flipped it for the 39mm Explorer 1.
Before that, I had a circa 2005 sub date, wonderful wonderful watch, but as someone said, it isn't exactly a dress watch, even if it does look good.

A sub with a suit is like spandex. A hot girl can wear them, others can't. I'm no James Bond, I'm more Fleming, the guy behind the type writer, hence the 214270.

The bracelet on the Submariner is the best, however, the complication on the GMT is very useful...

Generally speaking, you want to be careful about following fashion advice from a fellow who wears spider cufflinks.
