Hi JP,

Sorry if I've not been clear. The watch case back isn't stamped, it's the original Bureaux Suisses chronometer certificate that came with the watch when new that is rubber-stamped with the date that the certificate was issued in September 1966. This certificate bears both the movement serial number and the watch case number, which is 149XXXX. Apart from the case number, there are no markings anywhere on the outside of the case or case back.

Adam - You are right, of course. We all 'age' in different ways; it is what makes us all unique - and Rolexes are no different!!

Thanks Stan. The case back markings are on the inside the case back. You would need to remove the case back to see it.

That's neat. Vincents Gilt is a 1,49xxxx serial too. They also look similar.
