Calling All Sub 5513s, 1962-1990.

Let's see those 5513s through the decades please. Here's my L-series tail-ender from about 1989.

Wow! That, sir, is a beauty of a 5513! Damn nice, Adam.

Sadly, I can't contribute a photo to the thread. I sold my only 5513 many years ago when I was a foolish child.

Thanks Dave, yes it was fresh back from the Rolex spa that day, with new dial, hands & crown, but unpolished and otherwise unmolested, despite RSC's best efforts.

Beautiful. I didn't realise the 5513 ever came with a 369.

Mike, what a gorgeous piece! I really think the explorer dial on a sub is just top notch. Thanks for sharing!

Some really excellent shots guys, nice to be able to pick out the detail variation between years. That last model run looks almost the same as my 14060 so I can now see the evolution of this iconic Submariner. Just reinforces my choice of model is the right one for me.
Cheers,

No such thing as a bad Submariner .....

.... although my daily driver 1.6 gilt 5513 pushes the boundaries.

And for any eagle eyes out there ...... that's not really a Rolex pearl you see .... it's a surface mounted LED bulb with the backing plate shaved.
My personal protest at the outrageous cost of (often questionable) vintage Rolex pearls
