do the new super jubilee bracelets stretch?
the old non solid link bracelets would stretch as the years go by and you would notice it by holding the watch vertically up while the bracelet just swings down.
does it happen with the new super jubilee bracelets on the datejust? |

I have the new super jubilee. I picked up the dj new in 2008 I think. It has been pretty much my daily wear for the last 6 months and before that my wife always wore it. I have not noticed any stretch and am keeping my fingers crossed.

Its wear and not stretch in general keeping bracelet clean and worn correctly on the wrist a snug fit,now that will regular normal routine service bracelets will have a long life. And the so called solid link is not really solid as they have holes drilled through the metal, the older bracelets just have more of a void space in the metal.

Both the classic and super jubilee bracelets will last a lifetime with a relatively snug fit and regular cleaning regimen. Same goes for the oyster bracelet.

How can you quantify how snug the bracelet should be?

Wear watch just above the wrist bone and you can get the tip and nail of your little finger under the clasp.

Regular cleaning will prevent stretch...but as others have said, any bracelet will wear down when neglected.

...I agree, to all the above.. It's not the 'stretch'., ..but rather the wear/tear of friction upon metals. The recommendations suggested helps enormously.to mitigate a natural occurancec..

This is why I ultrasonic bath monthly, and wear NATOs when I am out of the country.

Cannot think of anything more to add here, sounds great to me. I have never had any issues with stretch or wear

The newer style (also called a D link from the profile shape of the outer links) pretty much eliminated this, so these days yes, "stretch" is really wear. There have been some pretty good pictures and diagrams posted in the past; do a search if you have the time (this topic comes up a lot, so there will be a large result)...
