The blue Sub might be the most enviable watch on this forum. Is it?
So, on my recent post on my admiration of my 116619 (Smurf), someone commented that the 116619 might be the most enviable watch on this forum.
So, what is your most enviable Rolex watch?? You can only pick one. For me, the Smurf is my favorite Rolex model. Brian |

The blue Sub is certainly coveted by many fans but I'm not sure if it is THE most coveted model on TRF since everyone has their own "grail''.
I'm sure the YG GMT 2 would rank high on any list, as would the new Platinum Daytona and perhaps even the President. My personal grail is the YG YM 2. |

I don't think so. It's a lovely watch, but I think the new WG pepsi takes the cake for that model. I think Platona owns platinum, and this place I think is pretty spread out on YG; but if I picked one, it would be the GMT as TRFs favorite YG model.

It's definitely up there..... probably because it is quite unique and top of the tree in terms of the Submariner range.
So given it's the only WG Submariner and the Sub is such an iconic watch, it stands to reason it will be coveted by watch enthusiasts. But every time Ken posts a photo of any one of his amazing collection, I think the general TRF "most enviable" watch changes....... I know it does for me....... |

I would have to say a white gold sky dweller, although my next purchase will be a Blue Stick Dial DJ2 with fluted bezel!

I don't think any watch that is easily obtainable _ money issues aside _ would be the most enviable. This Daytona would be a better candidate!

for me, DEEPSEA CHALLENGER DEEP...
The one that Rolex made but does not sell is the most coveted. The blue sub can not hold a candle to it.. http://www.rolex.com/magazine/sports...challenge.html |

On a personal level, the most enviable Rolex for me would be a 1675 GMT from 1956 or a Platona.
More and more I am attracted to vintage pieces that are no longer in production. I love the Daytona and the new Platona form Bazel 2014 would definitely be a grail for me. |

Nice yes but not even on my radar. An excellent condition DRSD, red dial 1680, Paul Newman Daytona. For modern day the BLRO would have me drooling with envy.

If I had to pick one and it had to be a Rolex I'm with Expat Beast but I'll go a tad more specific and say early model GMT...like the model Chuck Yeager wore...in mint condition.
Nothing in precious metal for me... |

In that price range I would have two other Rolexes first, a DD2 and YG sports.
