Need some help on Sub (wrist size)
Went to try on the latest Sub this afternoon and left not feeling so good about it. My wrist is on the larger side and the sub looked pretty small. I tried the DSSD on and it was a top heavy piece that looked too big. The Explorer II was absolutely perfect in size, but it's not my favorite style.
I really want the 116610LN, but I have about 1/2" on each side of the lugs. Do any of you guys with a large wrist wear a sub? I would really welcome pictures where the lugs come nowhere near the width of the wrist. Appreciate any help. |

take some pics of YOUR wrist with it on so we can see it, it really looks great on a large range of wrist sizes
I bet if you had the DSSD fitted to you that would be the watch for you. I have a 6.5 inch wrist and the DSSD is fine |

tkerrmd - Thanks for the reply. In retrospect, I should have taken pictures and you are definitely correct that it's hard to get a feel for the DSSD without having it sized. I think they have all the links in on the watches in the case, so the DSSD kinda flopped around on me.

Sounds like a properly fitted DSSD could be the way to go here
Such a pity that the new Sea Dweller is not 42 mm

Exactly!!!! I love the size of the explorer II for my wrist, but I love the look of the Sub. I know you can't have it all, but if Rolex made a 42mm Sub, I'd be all over it.

Sometimes a watch seems small from your close vantage point, but how does it appear when seen by someone across the table from you? Or across the room, or as you walk through the business class section of Virgin Atlantic to London?
Not easy to get that perspective, but I have found that most watches look better from a distance greater than the lenght of my arm.

The Explorer II is a very nice watch and gets under your skin after a while, but if your heart is set on a 'full size' Rolex diver then your only choice is the DSSD

Yes you must have fitted it makes a huge difference. Same thing happened to me at the AD...almost didn't buy b/c hard to tell.
JUST My Opinion of the DSSD and wrist size ....I think 7 inch works, but 7.5 or larger is better. I think it looked on the bigger side on me (7.5 wrist) |

I have a 9" wrist (14 links on bracelet)and love the sub, explorer or GMT. I have tried the DSSD on 10 times and it just feels wrong, maybe if I wore it for a week it would feel better...... Everyone is different.

Thanks guys, you offer some great advice and a perspective I didn't think from previously. I especially didn't think of what the watch looks like at length greater than my arm. I'm going to go back tomorrow and try the Sub and DSSD on again and this time use a wall mirror.
Appreciate all who replied. Cheers! |

Need some help on Sub (wrist size)
I know exactly how you feel. I have just over 7.5 inch wrists. I used to own the 45.5 Planet Ocean 8500 so I was used to a big watch. I loved the Subc but initially felt it was too small. I bought the 216570 Explorer 2 and the size felt perfect but I didn't like the look of it as much as the Sub. So I sold the Exp2 and bought the 114060. I would prefer it to be slightly bigger but it's so beautiful I love it.

I'm tired of waiting at this point though and if I don't like what I get, I'll just get something else. A big thank you for the pictures! |

Just my opinion - the sub is a perfect fit on Dave's wrist. If the sub looks the same on your wrist, then you, in my opinion, have an ideal sub wrist. But what's most important is that you love it and are completely comfortable with it before spending the money.

Need some help on Sub (wrist size)
SubC on my 7.5" wrist, the case design makes it look larger than 40mm

I have an 8 inch wrist. I wear 16610 sub, GMT BLNR and have a 216570 explorer. None at to small.
