Finally decided on my first Rolex..now the waiting begins

It's been a long time coming.

My dad had a Datejust and a President back in the 80s/90s. Ended up selling them off. Since then I've always had in the back of my mind that I wanted one, since it was one thing that would always make me remember him.

Fast forward a few years. I keep thinking about the Rolex, but it's in the back of my mind more than anything. I guess I never really *seriously* considered it. Heck, I've been perfectly happy with my daily platinum Eco-Drive Citizen for over 5 years. It has never failed me.

I got engaged about a week ago, and one of the the things she was adamant about was that she wanted me to have something nice since she got a pretty nice rock.

I decided it was time to cough up for the Rolex. I have been looking for a few months, and finally found the one I wanted, from David at Honolulu Time on this board. Super excited is an understatement.

I wired funds to him on Saturday. Assuming everything transfers quickly, he expected to be able to ship today, which would put it in my hands Wednesday.

This place is bad though. It took me several months to decide on what my first Rolex would be, but I'll be darned if it didn't take me less than a day to decide what my second one will be. Now if I can just find a Submariner in blue that won't break the bank I'd be a happy man.

Pictures to come once it arrives!

David is a good trusted seller here so you'll have no trouble.
Before tearing into the package you'll have to start shooting an "unwrapping" thread pics.

I read up in the buyers/sellers forum and looked like David was a good guy to deal with, so I wasn't worried about wiring funds to him.

I'll *try* to remember to photograph the unwrapping! I may just rip the package open though!

It's on the truck for delivery today! Fedex usually comes by my office in the mornings, so here's to hoping he shows up soon!

And here she is, complete with the required unboxing photos! My desk was a bit of a mess, but I couldn't wait to open the box up!

David at Honolulu Time was fantastic with a perfect transaction.

My very own Datejust 16200. It's everything I hoped for and more. Now to quit looking at Submariners. lol.

Nice datejust there! Congratulations on a beautiful piece.
A sports rolex (ie: sub) will complement this really well!

Nice choice, my long lost cousin! Enjoy it.
