I've decided to make my life easier and look for a leather strap with pegged spring bars. I've only found 2 companies so far that make them: JBW watches and Michele Watches. Problem is, they don't make them in 21mm. Otto Frei sells a tool for cutting my own holes for the spring bar but it's $360 and more than I'm willing to spend.

Does anyone know of other companies that sell straps with it or has anyone cut a hole themselves? Any tips?

Looks like an interesting design ~ would not use a modified one, however. Perhaps you could contact the manufacturer and see what's on the horizon.

I first came across them on a Kenneth Cole watch that came with 3 straps. Makes changing the strap a 1 second project with no tools.

That's a good idea. Maybe they can do a custom strap in 21mm. Worth a shot since it doesn't seem too many companies make straps with the pegged spring bar.

Still hoping a TRFer knows where I can source one, though.

I have seen them only made out of brass (or gold/Pt in the case of Patek).
That would be too soft imo - I prefer the harder S/S Rolex pins.

I agree with you 100% that it would need to be SS for strength. I wouldn't compromise the integrity of the spring just for ease of use. I didn't realize some were made of brass or gold. The few brands I know of make them in SS but only in traditional sizes (16mm, 18mm, 20mm, ect...).

Awesome site! I've never had a custom made strap but like the idea of it. Prices are pretty close to most strap companies, too. I'm going to contact her tomorrow. Thank you!

Patek uses them on some of their pieces.

Yeah, I usually notice them on high end watches. Great idea. They sure would make changing straps less of a pain in the a**.

I really like those kind of springbars, makes life alot easier and definitely less scratches on the lugs..

All I know is Hermes watch straps comes with them when you purchase the strap..

A great idea. Rolex used 20mm if I remember correctly, but it's too late and I'm sleep deprived. I'll check on this again tomorrow. Lol

Easier to swap straps but also inadvertently disengage, too? As much as I wear jeans and reach into pockets - I wonder about unintentional releases.

I have these on my 1803 and old omegas. Jean Rousseau offers these on all their straps. Quite nice.

Fossil sells them at retail.

These pegged straps are really convenient for changing, but the pegs are quite obvious, I could see the pegs on my watch when reading the time.

I have purchased a few LumTec watches and all of them come with quick release spring bars made from SS. The strap has to be designed for that type of doing bar or you would need to cut a hole in the strap to accommodate the peg for the quick release.
