options
I had a thread started a while ago ( not sure how to post the link ) but basically I got robbed for a few watches and my dream watch Black Matte Sub...
I need to save up again - in the mean time I was wondering if anyone could give me a recommendation for a dive watch that is nice to wear everyday and that is tough since I am on a boat a lot - my budget is about 1k to 1,500. |

Seiko, Casio are great water-resistant options and are very affordable. I would personally pick one of those over spending more on a Swiss mechanical like Tissot or Oris. If your goal is to save for another Rolex then don't go all out on a 2nd tier mechanical. JMHO

In addition to what Marc recommended I would look at Marathon as well.

Will insurance possibly cover the theft?
I'd reccommend saving for the one you want.. and I'd reccomend a sub :) Its a great everyday watch. |

I am sorry about your misfortune. I hope that one day thieves will get what they deserve...
I would look into Marathon. As a matter of fact, there is one on sale right on this forum. Here is the link to the ad: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=348880 Seikos divers are nice watches and from what I understand, many of today's models are made in Malaysia, not Japan. I am sure some folks may not like that. Your other best best is to wait for a pre-loved Sub. If you spend $1,500 on a watch right now, it means you have to start saving from scratch. |

Also, Ball makes a diver that you can find pre-owned in that budget.

Seiko, Marathon or a used DOXA, any of these would suit your temporary needs I would think.

Sorry to hear.
You might take a look at Halios. They make a good watch for the money: http://www.ablogtowatch.com/halios-tropik-review/ http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/2010/6/...brew-with.html http://forums.watchuseek.com/f74/hal...73403-215.html |
