Rolex price increase May 1

Rolex Canada informed my AD today that prices are increasing across the board by 6 per cent on May 1. In January Rolex cut the AD profit margin by 4 per cent so the effective increase this year is 10 percent. Is there any word on a US price increase?

I thought ADs were only notified a few days before?

This seems like a long way out for that, regardless, someone who knows people shall be along soon to put us out of our misery.

Rolex did not cut profit margin for AD's here in US and they still pay 62% of MSRP. Also no price increase for foreseeable future. Rolex also has never informed AD's in advance and AD's are sent new price sheets and asked to turn in old ones. Maybe it is different there but that isn't how it works here. Maybe it is currency related in some countries but again I can't speak to that. I can say though that Rolex management said in Basel no price increases on the horizon.

PS. By the way Rolex did change price for AD from 60 to 62% of MSRP and take away the extra discount for AD's who paid for watches within 30 days of receipt. That happened over a year ago though.

Makes no sense for Rolex to alert an AD to a price hike a month out, I could go into common sense business specifics, but if you think real hard you'd probably come up with them.

I"m going with Ken on this one, so far his insight and knowledge wreaks of:
a- a time machine
b- reliable connections
c- magic
Either way, he's usually right on with his assessments or like .2 mils at 300 meters off, trust me, that's not a lot.
Who the hell could have guessed a SDc would come out in Basel this year, now if you think real hard you'll probably come up with the answer....

+1

I'm convinced that Ken is a wizard. Whatever he says, I believe (especially after I was dead wrong about the new SD ).

You guys just need to put $7000 down and finance the rest for 1-2 years
Then you'll have all those savings on your wrist...

Bernie - I got the same message from my AD in the GTA. May 1 5-6% increase. I certainly hope those in the know here prove that wrong as I need more time to save for my next one!

The only thing that's 100% sure is Rolex will increase there prices some month in the future when that will be only Rolex knows when and not the AD.

Maybe you have currency adjustment there. I also can't speak to anywhere outside of US. I have read of currency adjustments in different regions. As for an actual price increase across the board for Rolex worldwide--there hasn't been one in 2 years. When there is one there is no pre announcement. As I have stated AD's get new price sheet and are asked to turn in old one. With all of this talk about price hikes though you guys are destined to jinx us!

There must certainly be a different policy in Canada as I got the same info on Saturday from my AD just outside of Toronto that prices are going up. He did cite the stronger CHF and the weaker Canadian dollar against the US dollar as the reason given him for the adjustment.

It makes sense because their exists a natural arb right now between CDN and US prices. A BNIB BLNR can be had right now easily for $8400 CDN (taxes included) which is about $7650 USD. I haven't seen a US price on that watch even remotely close to that. So you are correct that it's more of a currency adjustment than anything else.

Agreed, the US seems different, but Norway AD's confirm here also a 5-7% price rise on 1st of May. Praying my new SD comes in before then!!!

UK dealers have heard rumours, but nothing firm...

Yep. Posted the same thing in another thread.

Only time will tell whether this is limited to everywhere but the US. Unless you live there, better get your new pieces now....

It's confirmed.

New price for the sub is 9100 and 12900 for the Daytona. All before taxes as usual.

Cheers
