Watch that u like the most and you will take it for granted
Hi there,
Im kinda new in horology and been flipping watches since these 2 years. From mediocore watch like seiko (sorry for seiko fans) up to AP (watch more than 20k is out of my budget). I know i might not flip or have watches as many as you guys ( i would stay for 3-4 watches max) and as a title name, do you guys have a watch that you will never ever flip it over the other watches for 2-3 years ahead? If you do, please let me know what that beautiful watch is. And let me know why. Begin with mine first. I think for 2 or 3 years ahead, i will never flip or sell (as long as i have food to eat and place to live) my rolex submariner ceramic date. Because it is so versitle. It just a very flexible watch that can be match with any clothes that you wear (suits, short pants and tshirt, jeans and shirt, etc) or any events that you attend (party, works, meeting w clients, etc).Ive been wearing this beautiful watch since 2 years almost everyday while the other watches in my collections are flipped over and over. Even if there is a good deal for a watch i like the most (pp aquanaut) and i kinda shortage of budget to take it, i dont think i will sell it. Unless someone want to trade my sub with aquanaut without any additional money (which is very impossible). So lemme know what yours |

Probably only a precious metal watch now, all steel ones I could see myself trading one day.

Patek 5167
This is my go to watch - with jeans, with a suit and tie - it just works. It's under the radar, feels weightless, and is just a delight to wear.
A bunch of people here don't get this watch, but you will never truly appreciate it without extensive wear. |

Never say never, but I could see myself keeping the Daytona. It is just so good looking and iconic; plus, when you factor in the dials from the white gold line, there are tons of options to change it up! |

My TT Sub is going strong after 18years. It transcends trends because it matches my core personality. It will never, ever be sold. I have been around this crazy hobby for over 20 years now and its seems to me that a watch that you own for about that 5 year mark and still enjoy, probably will be a keeper for life. Its easy to say its a keeper when its a relatively new acquisition. Much like a marriage, it takes some miles and experiences together that solidifies a bond. I love to see when a guy buys a new watch for the birth of a child or new marriage. Its only a watch but the memory of wearing that watch during that milestone can never be replaced and the watch takes on a entirely different significance.
This watch is like being married to a super model that cooks, cleans, and likes to go fishing.

I buy only the watches I would keep for a long period of time and I am not interested in flipping. As a result, I stick with classic designs and my selection process is quite tedious.

Unless a watch is gift to me or to mark a major life event, it will likely be flipped. I enjoy the search and the whole process of buying and selling and getting to enjoy a new toy for a few months/years. I've met some interesting folks in that process too.

18238 DD 18k/YG
I always wanted a Yellow Gold President since I was young. The 18238 was my first watch and I love the way it looks and feels on my wrist. She is a keeper!

I have two watches, from a current collection of twelve, that I know I'll keep forever.
Sub C, as I bought this to give as a gift to my son, who is now five (and thus old enough to know it's "his"), and my JLC Reverso GT. The JLC is a keeper because it's the only watch I have that feels perfect on my wrist and it has a heritage that's second to none. My Rolex 16750 and Omega Aqua Terra Skyfall should also feel safe, but for the right price... who knows, given time? [IMG][/IMG] |
