Looks good to me!
You said "it may not have all the bells and whistles..." But what does a Sub have on it? Slightly larger case and a rotating bezel. The Rolex DNA is what matters.

I had one for a couple of days until the stem fell out trying to set the date; it went back from whence it came and my money was refunded. Ended up replacing it with a Sub ND which I am glad to have. Congratulations on the new to you OP Date. They are very nice watches. The failure on mine wasn't because of the model by any stretch of the imagination.
