I wonder how long it will stay like this? As long as with the Daytonas ("Zenith" and in-house) that have basically resold for more than list for 20 years now??

I don't think so!

Agreed, not the staying power that the Daytona is known for.

Is the Green crystal hard to obtain? What prices are they bringing?

The MRSP of the green crystal in Geneva, Switzerland aka Rolex Paradise is CHF6,900 before a 7% VAT refund for export. This works out to be around USD6,625.00.

It is definitely hard to obtain because Rolex will not be delivering any more models before Summer/Autumn (Fall) 2008.

The green Glass Milgauss will be as rare as hens teeth as they say. Rolex have only imported and released around 20 of these in the uk. In the USA about 100 have been released. Production of this watch is very very tough because of the green crystal glass.

In the Uk the retail price is 3210.00 but rolex prices are going up on the 3rd march by about 10% average. In europe this is prodominately because of the weakness of the pund and the euro and swiss franc being so strong.

I have been offered 14000.00 US dollars for my Green Milgauss, but I can assure you that the rareity of this watch will continue for many years to come.

regards

I picked mine up last month and have been offered well north of $15K for it all ready......Tough decision...I am really conflicted here.

As for being able to replace it....As you guys said, it will be at least a year beofre these things are available again...so it's a tough decision. What do you guys think?

I would sell it in a heart beat while the market value is high, supply is low and buy something else unless it's your dream watch than I would keep it.

When they do resume production and almost all say this is going to happen, the market $$$$ will drop back down to a stable level. I have heard from a few collectors that think a GV will end up around $10k USD.

Just speculation but I would tend to agree with them.

I'd flip the GV in an instant - in two-three years, you'll be able to buy yourself another one for $10K or less.

That's the price range I have heard. I'm still waiting for mine, first on the list if my AD ever gets one. =) maverick

i ordered my green glass milgaus when on the day of release Basel 2007 but watch did not become available until dec 2007 my authorised dealer telephoned me informing me it was in, but she would not hold it for me as i was flying to gran canaria on holiday the same day so i lost this one. I was fuming with her ( not a happy bunny) but my dealer has now come up trumps and i collected another one last week.

I am due to get 2 more of these over the next six months so watch this space.

Just waiting for the new models to be launched at basel 2008

I think this is an extremely rare watch with an extreme price.....hard to justify just on rarity alone. I have not seen a GV, but would not pay double the price because I don't care for the Milgauss.
