It has been said the quest for the first Rolex can be more enjoyable than the watch itself. Just keep reading the forum religiously... And pull up watchrecon 10 times per day and you'll have that watch in your hands soon enough.

Can't pull the trigger? Could be a question of blood flow.

This is exactly what happened to me. I'm 22 still at university and I have already set my eyes on a Patek 5205. Although I already have an anniversary submariner and explorer I. I wonder will I change my mind and look at Ferraris. Never the less saving is good. That's how many millionaires started off so :) hopeful wishing haha

I can see this happening to me. The money I have put away for a watch is almost enough for an entry level Patek.

Just get a good watch that you like, you need to get it out of your system, then start saving for something else, another watch or something else altogether.

You can't go wrong with the Explorer, the Daytona, or even a Sub. Go try them on at an AD. You'll figure it out.

Absolutely true! I started with a 16600 in 2008, 116520/PAM292/216570/16610LV in 2010, then 14060M and DSSD in 2011, BLNR in2013, 114060 and now PP5167/A in 2014.....it's an addiction, there is no cure!!

OP, I have the opposite problem. Can't stop pulling the trigger before I get enough watch $ to fund the grail (or what I think is the grail). Then again, I'm learning that more $ doesn't equate to more watch.

Hold on to your money till you get the gold. Or end like me have to trade my watch cheap to get the grail.

I'll probably visit an AD this weekend or next. I may walk out with a white dial daytona.

For some people, the chase is better than the catch

As long as you are enjoying yourself, research for as long as you wish!

Watches are to be worn and enjoyed, live every day like your last. In the end if you ever buy the watch you will be too scared to wear it out of the house.

I started saving money for a Rolex watch a while back. The Rolex I intitially had my eye on was a vintage SS 6694 for about $1500. Once i saved up the cash for that particualar watch, I started targeting the SS 39mm Explorer 1 that could be had for $5000 to $6000. Well, once i had money saved up for that watch I started targeting a white face SS Daytona. I now have the money put aside for the SS daytona.

Now, the yellow gold Daytona is really singing to me. I'm thinking about waiting to save a little longer so that i can purchase that watch instead. It seems that every time I save up the money for the watch I think I want, I end up wanting a different Rolex watch that is just slightly out of my reach.

What is going on with me? Has anyone else ever been unable to pull the trigger like this?

By the way, I'm enjoying this forum immensly. Beautiful pics and lots of info.

Thanks fellow watch lovers.

I have no trouble pulling the trigger .... Ask anyone here .... Hang with me, and I'll help you pull the trigger in about 30 seconds

You're flipping through watches without ever purchasing them. That's genius! White faced Daytona is a great watch. What size is your wrist.

Admit it .. Life ws boring without me while I was recovering

I may have mentioned before but I'll do it again. I often have to edit my typos .... Sometimes I don't edit .... It's not that I'm dumb, it just a mixture of trying to get over the CVA and the pain medication .... So please forgive me if my spelling is a bit off at times.

Don't worry about it, haven't noticed anything myself, hope all this banter is a pleasant distraction
