First Rolex Purchase - 116610LN
First of all, I want to again thank Thanh Do, aka Takuya for finding me a new Sub C Date. http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=356188
Waiting for the USPS truck to arrive felt incredibly long (all 20 hours from when I paid to when it was delivered) The first time I ever held a Sub C was about a year ago in St. Thomas. I really wanted it, but couldn't justify the price at the time. When I came back, I looked for a less expensive alternative and ended up with a Steinhart Ocean One. Since then, I was promoted at my firm and decided that I should reward myself. I wasn't planning on going back to St. Thomas anytime soon, so I stopped by a few AD's here in NYC. None of them offered any sort of discount because they claim inventory was low. I went back and forth between the Date and ND and had a hard time deciding. I tried to not look at the date on my watches for a few days and realized that I use the date complication more than I thought. Being in the banking industry, I sign off on a lot of documents, trades and wires; so having the date was a must. So here it is folks! |

Comparison shot
Here is a photo of the SubC vs the Steinhart. Having approximately a 6.25 inch wrist, the Steinhart, at 42mm feels and looks much larger on my wrist.
The SubC at 40mm feels perfect to me. The bracelet and clasp is my favorite aspect of the watch; it wears 10x more comfortable because it is more narrow. |
