The watch in the pictures appears to be real.

Why would anyone buy a Rolex on ebay? It is like, "I can't really afford a Rolex, so I'm going to risk my limited funds on a watch that has a higher than average probability of being fraudulent."
My advice, either keep saving money for a real rolex, or buy from sellers on this site, who are more trustworthy and give really good deals. Yes, periodically you can buy authentic luxury goods on ebay, but rarely at high discounts unless there is something wrong (and with watches, you need to remember sometimes the case is genuine but the mechanism is either fake or not original to the watch). Read the other original posts on this sub-forum (Watch Out) to see how many people get taken. Just some advice. I've bought fakes (not watches), so I've been there. |

I will say that the ad and the watch could be very genuine. A good deal can be had. However, I don't know if I'd take up this seller's offer. For me I like the whole store experience. But to each their own.

My email to seller:
Hi Tiffany, I'm an old hand on eBay & usually no pick up on valuable items equals trouble . The watch looks genuine & you seem sincere, but without pick up I can't assess the watch with a Rolex dealer, which I always do. I have quite a good Rolex collection , all of which have been assessed prior to me paying or I have bought from a Rolex dealer. If you post to Langfords the AD in Brisbane - 260 Queen St.- it would be assessed, which of course I pay for, and I would then pay you if all ok. It would cost me approx. $400 to do this. If not ok I would pay to post back to you. That is a no-brainer you can't lose! It would cost me around $400 +.as above. If you won't do this then I would not bid. Let me know. Cheers, Ray |

If I was the e-bay seller of this watch I would totally ignore your above e-mail and also block you from bidding as a potentional scammer.

by the way, her reply:
Dear Ray, Sorry for the inconvenience but there is no pick up, but if you get it checked and it's not legit you will get a full refund on the item. Cheers Tiffany |

If I received an e-mail like yours where the potential buyer wants me to ship the watch to be looked at (without paying) and then guarantee to send it back I would certainly smell rotten fish. |
