I've had mine now for a few days, I can safely say it will retire most of my other sport Rolex watches.

Yep. And while I honestly haven't been tracking exact #'s on this thread, I would say there are probably just as many people that want/love it as there are people that pass/hate it. While it may not be for me, I have no doubt it will do extremely well overall.

Actually, I'm kind of glad it didn't knock my SubC off its thrown as I really didn't want to dish out the coin it would take to buy one. Man, I must be getting old because I still can't believe the list prices for the sport SS Rolex models. When is the madness going to end?!?!

I had the chance yesterday to play with the new SD at my AD's yesterday and have some initial thoughts.

The watch is superbly done. Everything we expect from Rolex appears in the new SD. Fit and finish are amazing, bezel turns with just the right resistence, I'd say somewhere between the Sub and the DSSD.

Clarity of the dial is wonderful and the addition of a ture diver's extension in the bracelet is welcome for those that might use it although my impression many will choose to have it removed for fit. The brecelet seems to have a ton of adjustment.

I know some have siad the watch wears smaller than the Sub. My initial impression is that while it might it doesn't wear as small as the older SD compared to the older Sub.

Those looking for a smaller wrist presence relative to the newer SubC might be a bit suprised.

Yes the lugs are shorter, but the overall presentation is ...well supurb.

Price is the thing. 10K plus 4 is a lot for an SS watch to me given the Sub does everything I want, but to those that GOTTA HAVE the SD it won't disappoint IMHO.

Sits a tad higher, but not overly so.

I passed on the watch simply on price relative to the Sub. I can see one in my future once the Ho-rah settles down though.
