What are the best websites to sell a watch?

I am putting 2 watches on sale, I have never done that before, I was only buying them, so I don't really know what is the best places to put them on sale, of course Ebay is a big NO, but for the others I don't really know, for those who are used to selling expensive watches, 17.700 and 8.700 euros, what are your favorite ways for selling?

Thanks in advance for your feedback on this.

TRF is not so great for selling if you live outside the USA, because most members are from there, and mailing a Rolex to the States is very risky/illegal.

Not everyone has success selling on TRF. Ebay can be done safely but there is still an element of risk mainly revolving around PayPal not protecting sellers like they should. Stay away from the scammers on Craigslist. Whatever source you use I have found the most luck dealing with people who respond to my listings with a face to face transaction. The sale takes place safely at my office with a cash transaction and all has gone well the 6 or 7 times I have done this. Whatever road you choose good luck to you.

TRF is (almost) useless if selling from Europe.
Chrono24 is best I think.
Being in France you could try your luck (after 50 posts) at the French watch forum :

We don't know if they are Rolex yet?

And wouldn't TRF be a good place to start?

Thanks guys, yes I was under the impression that TRF is useless if selling from Europe which is my case, even if I put posts I am not expecting any return on TRF, for the watches there is one Rolex, Daytona 116515 and one Panerai 233K, I think will try my luck on Chrono 24, but they have IMO high prices, 99 euros for each watch, but your add lasts 6 months and if at the end of the 6 months it isn't sold they give your money back. Shipping to the US is not illegal or risky, it's just that the buyer will need to pay import taxes, don't know how much, in Europe it seems to me it's around 20% for any import coming from a country not belonging to the EU, so like someone said most TRF members are in the US, so buying a watch from Europe won't be very interesting for them, same goes the other way around, being in Europe you won't get a great deal if buying from the US, I'm sure they can find better deals from US sellers...

Try ebay and chrono24 but only cash on collection. You are in Paris so you should have some good interest. Also join TZ-UK and you can sell there later.

Importing Rolex watches into the US is illegal, and if the watch is found by US Customs it will most likely be confiscated. Plenty of threads about this here.

That's crazy, in Europe you can import what you want you just have to pay the taxes, that's it;;;

This thread interests me because I've never sold a watch on TRF and have a history of flipping watches (except my first shown in avatar) after owning them a few years. I sold a TT Sub to a local jeweler and a TT GMT on Ebay 15-20 years ago with no issues, but would be very nervous selling on Ebay today. I'm also unsure of my likelihood of success on TRF given no previous sales from here, but I guess everyone must start somewhere.

I put a watch up on Chrono24 once.

They have a money back guarantee if your watch does not sell, I felt they did a good job of verifying who I was and that I actually did have the watch. Making buyers more confident when contacting me.

I did not get any scammers looking to buy, I got a few solid buyers but we could not come to a deal.

I ended up selling it, but the buyer came from watchUseek so I cannot say I successfully sold on Chrono24 but I would consider using them again.

Try here and VRF. I also sell on eBay and have found the risks acceptable.
