Hey All:

I was digging through my old watch drawer today and found this piece.

I recall it being a "Vostok Tank Watch". I think the green dial color is pretty rare (lots of black and other colors on eBay).

Very crude, manual wind, mechanical watch. The screw down back ring uses a plate and gasket rather than an O ring.

Kinda strange that some guys wearing something like this are now entering the Crimea area of Ukraine.

The most unusual watch I own is probably my Bulova Computron, although my Russian watches are the Moser from 1917, and the mid 1960's Soviet special forces dive watch. Essentially a pocket watch movement in a case that'd stop a cruise missile in its tracks, shown beside my Sub for size comparison.

When Nikita Khrushchev visited the USA, the state gift to him was a Bulova Accutron , the tuning fork watch was the wonder of the time. He took it back to the USSR and ordered that a tuning fork watch be made and they were only able to do it by cloning the Accutron. The result was the Slava Transistor and it has been reported that Moscow Watch Factory #2 made about 1000 for party and military big shots. Very very few of them run today.
Here's mine but it is a franken containing many Accutron parts.

The watch itself is not unusual, but the caseback is hand engraved with maori drawings, and it´s really something worth looking at!
It´s a Limited Edition of 25 pieces. Magrette Kia Kaha ("be strong").
