Rolex man...Omega purchase
The part of this forum dedicated to Omega has failed me twice. No one has answered my question which is the following:What is a fair price to pay for a 1967 Omega Speedy with "new everything" except the case and of course the wonderful 321 movt. Every new component is original Omega and to 1967 specs.I am sorry to post this here but I would like an honest answer from someone with experience in this matter. As always thanks a lot in advance.

Failed you ???????????
The forum is not a personal shopping service. Especially with a question like "How much is one of these worth" A 1967 original Speedy, in mint condition can go from 3,000 to over 5,000 bucks and possibly more, depending on dial, history, service records, etc.. But one with "new everything" except the case might not be worth more than 750 to 1200. And how can anybody prove that the C. 321 movement is "original" if nothing else is..

I think this is another case where you need to re-read how you replied. His question was very clear with no attitude and your repsonse was really uncalled for. You really need to stop snapping at people when they are just requiring information. |

What I really think is that you don't need to tell Larry or another mod how to respond to a thread.

No one here has the right to snap at people for making honest inquiries whether it being a mod or a member.
We all can get along and respond in a civil manner even if you don't agree with the thread topic. No one has the right to cast negativity and mods should lead by example. We all have the right to ask a question without having our head blow off for no reason. Larry in the past has posted in this matter and has re-read his past posts and has personally noticed how they were a little harsh. Casting snide comments like "this is not your personal shopping service.." seems to counteract what everyone comes here to do, and that is to get good information about a future purchase. |

For someone to say the forum has failed them, well that's plain ignorant. For someone to tell a mod how to act when they're addressing an ignorant issue, that's called stupidity.

And calling me stupid is another example of an unfair insult when I never insulted anyone. I thought this place was a friendly place to share information, not for mods to gang up and insult members defending the premise of a thread. |

Did not mean to offend
Sorry if my post was misunderstood.I am not looking to be treated with preference but do not want to be treated as less than any other forum member and certainly I do not want to cause a dispute between forum members. Thanks a lot for the info. The movt. and the case are from 67 because it belongs to a person I know.unfortunately the dial was tampered with by inexperienced hands and messed up.this is a great forum and I hope it stays that way.A great source of info and a place to relax after a day of work.

Mods don't 'gang up' on members. We support each other and cover each other's backs. I never called you stupid, just your actions.

No, just your actions. If you didn't get an answer the first time, maybe you should ve asked again.
It shows again in your above post where you state that moderators are the last to act in such manner. From what we're told by the membership here, we do a fine job running this place. The members are happy and TRF runs very smooth. Now consider this a warning to play nice here.

A Rolex forum might not be the best place to get an authoritative answer to your query. Anyone know of a good Omega forum out there?
