Rolex Milgauss
Hello guys just wondering if this piece of Milgauss is authentic or replica? I studied that this piece does not have the crown on the "6" o clock, as this piece is GV, but just to make sure and get opinions from experienced collectors.

Difficult to be affirmative with only pictures like these ones. At 1st glance it looks OK, but most fake look OK too in these conditions. |

By "crown" I am assuming he is talking about the crown emblem on the dial.
I compared to my Milgauss bought new at AD. I believe the photo maybe reflecting light and making the crown look unusual. so I cannot agree with that as a final determination. It should have the serial number on the inside of the bezel under the crystal. I would google that serial number and see if any thing comes up under fake Rolex. It should be located at 6 |

I have not looked at a good fake so I cannot say that a fake would not have this, but on my Milgauss the orange print has a glossy look and is raised, where as the white print is more of a matt and is not raised like the orange.
It is actually more noticeable with naked eye than through a loupe. I am guessing a fake would not have picked up and bothered to copy this. From your photo, I cannot tell if your watch has this. |

Surest thing to do is take it in to dealer and have him look at it.

Looks real to me, with the older type letter spacing on the dial under the crown.

The crown logo is often referred to a coronet to distinguish it from the winding crown.

G5xxxxx would be a 2009 serial number, so that is good. I dont think too many fakes have gone to the problem of faking the serial number in the bezel.
But, I am sure there are some. Did you compare the lettering? as mentioned previously. |

The best fakes do... Some "clone" Milgauss models have been pushed out here in Los Angeles which claim to have all the details right. I have not seen them, but have heard about them. Most fakes currently available are of modern models
Take it to an AD or an independent jeweler if you are afraid of getting in trouble. |

Watch looks good and has the correct dial for a 2009. I don't know about the mentioned LA high quality fakes, but I am sure that if the seller is willing to let it have checked at an AD then there should be no problem. The Milgauss GV did not have the etched coronet at 6 o clock by the way.
