Understated watch at work

I know its been beaten to death, but I'm going to ask it again. Usually wear my gshock spike lee to work to keep it simple, but recently have been wanting something nicer that flies under the radar. Was thinking about the Pelagos, black bay, thc, or maybe an explorer I. I do like the idea of the explorer, but I kind of feel the Rolex on the dial flies in the face of trying to be understated at work. Anyways just curious what people's thoughts were.

I wear a SS Tag Carrera with black leather strap. Looks classy but flies under the radar. Not very noticeable unlike a Rolex.

Explorer or ND sub. I think maybe 1 or 2 people at the very most notice my ND sub. 99.99999999999999 percent of the people don't notice or care about the watch you are wearing.

I would say any Explorer reference.

People comment on my seadweller a fair bit, but its true that if they don't know what it is, its not a big deal. I mean a friend asked me if my offshore was a diesel watch. I try not to care what others think but previously i had an m3 and suddenly everyone knew about it and not in s good way

Understated watch at work

Wear what you want to wear anywhere, anytime.

Explorer is a pretty good choice.

I enjoy when watch people notice my Rolex, sparks good watch talk conversation. I am always looking at people's wrists.

No one seems to know or notice that my Explorer is a Rolex. You'd have to be looking REALLY closely to read the name on the dial, it's not like when you see the macro photos of these watches on your computer. The vast majority of people don't notice watches anyways.

I did just that, got a 36mm 114270 Explorer 1 for work. Truly, no one noticed that it is a Rolex at all. Love that watch.

99.9% of people may not care about what you wear to work, but once a single person notices and mentioned it, then all bets are off. However, remember that you wear the watch and the what does not (and should not) wear you. A yellow gold Day Date may push it, but any stainless steel model Rolex will fly under the radar.

Just wondering why your concern what people think about your watch at work? Personally I bought my watches with my own money so who cares what others think about my watchs. It is your money. Wear whatever you want to wear.

My personal favorite of the understated, whereas Rolex is concerned, is an Oyster Perpetual no date. Tops on my list would be the blue dial followed by the silver. In fact, I like it better than the Explorer 1 as the OP has lime on the arabica and the Explorer 1 doesn't.

Attached is a pic (not mine) from another thread on this forum that shows the two:

Just my two cents

I had a blue linen 1500 date for years. Some people noticed it.

Its substitute is now a 39mm Explorer I, which I bought
to have a good watch that is discreet. So far, it has
succeeded.

If people can see the Rolex on the dial they must be pretty close to you. If they are that close, then any Rolex or high end piece will be noticed it seems.

I don't view the Pelagos, Black Bay or THC as understated. For understated, I would consider DJs and the Exp 1.
