Ya, I took it as meaning over here in Malta. I'm glad you like the sdc. Just keep saving those pennies and pick yourself up a preowned one down the line

Sure, because the first time we were reading it in Japanese, right? You can keep your smart a$$ comments.

OP, sorry if I misunderstood & thought that you were referring to us, over here at TRF.

However in my eyes Rolex out did themselves this time. I saw a new SD 4000 for the first time yesterday and was truly blown away by its near perfection....what really really got me is its matte dial, then its slimmed down trimmer 'new' maxi case with very proportioned lugs and crown protectors. I also really liked the bezel & clasp...

I am one who tends to think that you could buy a watch as nice as a Rolex for much less...in this case I really am not so sure. I mean an Grand Seiko diver, PO 8500 etc..do not even compare to the sheer beauty and perfect proportions of the new SD 4000 to me. In fact I think you'd struggle to find a more well finished dive watch at any price..let alone less than what the new SD costs.

That all being said I am in no position to buy such an expensive watch ...but well that's it, just wanted to let you all know that I'm super envious of the owners of the new SD4000...it really is a super super watch ...
Nope...I disagree...owned it, flipped it already. Sub C no-Date is all you need.

First you're Not a fanboy, posers where you are have $12,000 matte black and SS dive watches that are considered "flashy", then you bought it to your own surprise, now it turns out you really didn't buy it because it's too expensive, but you're envious of those who have one.

Wow, I'm at a loss for words.

From looking at all the pictures the Sea-Dwelller seems to have much better readability compared to the Sub-C. A nice change

Au contraire (that's French btw), I'm in an excellent mood & not tetchy at all but my offer still stands.

I think the SubC still has the advantage as as daily wearer due to the fact it's quite a bit thinner than the Seadweller. Nice watch though.

I really like the SDC, I think I will grab one in a month or two. I have an F serial right now hence why I pulled the trigger on a few other pieces first however it's going to happen. Selling point for me is the dial.

Wow (again), so much disgruntal reactions over here lately. While not succinctly expressed I do agree with the OP's point that Rolex really outdid themselves with the new Sea-Dweller 4000. It is pretty much the only modern Rolex stainless steel I need, on my wrist now for pretty much 5 weeks straight

I own a '70 5513 and a '77 1680... I must confess this Sea Dweller is the best compromise between new and vintage. I am glad to have bought it new at my local AD with my name on the guarantee. I will pass on my son....in the farest future
