Close game that could have gone either way.

Both had opportunities to make goals that were missed...just a bit of luck determined the winner.

But in the end that's all it takes to come out on top...a bit of luck!

Yup, that was my favourite.

Van Persie's and Goetze's were also in the top three.

Since I'm dutch I'm kind of biased here... van Persie's header is my favorite.

most of the pros had brazil winning and ranked germany 4-5th. someone ran a simulation on ea sports' fifa where germany won. with that and my intuition, i picked germany before the tournament began. was a great month and obviously i'm happy with the result.

This hurts ... but given the significance I think Goetze's was the best goal of the cup.

Serg, best player of all time - Messi or Maradona?

For me it is still Maradona. I think Messi actually has more skill as he dribbles and has ball control and vision like Maradona but with more pace, however Maradona was the best player in 86 and won the WC almost by himself, and in 90 he was the best player again altho tied with Gascoigne and Matthaus. Messi has never been the best player or even close in any WC so far and that is more important imho.

Maradona methinks. He was pure genius on the pitch and he could carry the team on his shoulders, which Lio wasn't quite able to do. Play was a lot rougher back then as well. That said, Messi is probably more of a team player.

Very even game yesterday. We missed that bit of luck. Credit to the Germans, they had the physical prep edge and could create the extra space in the end. Solid team and like I said, beautiful goal.

I am proud of the Celeste y Blanca! Sadness will take a long while to wash away.
