First I prefer the 15202 but between the 15300 and 15400 I like the 300 more since it keeps the dimater of the original model. In my opinion the 15400 has lost a bit of grace, especially the white dialed one that seems to me a little wide.

I own a 15400, the 15202 is really a much better watch.
But I just can't spend that much on a single watch at the moment, but I could I would honestly go for the PP 5711.

They are all great watches, you cannot be wrong with any of them. I do admit that in line with the majority here, the 15202 is the special one among the special ones. It is a tad more elegant than the other models and it has this unique movement. Is it worth the premium? No, it is not, it is rather irrational. But then again, what is rational in buying such time pieces at all? Nothing, right? :-)

For me, 15202 > 15300 > 15450 > 15400. FYI, I own 15202 (latest) and 15450 (silver dial)
Not a big fan of the 15400 as I think it is too big for me. It looks more sporty than the 15300 but it is less elegant as a consequence. This is about personal preferences obviously, and depends highly on the size of your wrist (mine is 7') and how you wear your Royal Oak. I personally wear it mostly with a suit and I would rather have something more discreet as a consequence. I find the 15202 to wear more comfortably than the 15300 (at least for my wrist). I am not a huge fan of extra thin movement in general, but in the case of the 15202, I like the fact that it is light weight. I also prefer the Petite Tapisserie dial over the Grande Tapisserie dial. To quote my 6-year old daughter, it looks more "high-def". I also don't like the AP logo at 12 o'clock. In terms of movement, I actually prefer the 3120 movement over the 2120, even though 2120 is supposed to be the real deal for the purists. The finishing of the 3120 looks amazing, particularly the rotor. It is also easier to set the date. Finally, the crown is easier to handle on the 3120 movement (i.e. bigger) and it can be screwed (as opposed to the 2120). Frankly, with my large fingers and no nail, I find the setting of the time/date on my 15202 to be really difficult. Is 15202 worth the premium over the 15300 ? Probably not if you are a rationale buyer, but I am not sure there are a lot of rationale buyers on this forum :) I personally don't want to buy pre-own, especially a delicate piece like a Royal Oak. So the fact that the 15300 is discontinued has simply led me to the 15202. If both were available BNIB, I am not sure which one I would choose to be honest assuming money is an issue. If money is not an issue, then 15202 is the winner for me. Regardless, these are all great pieces. |

Thank you guys for all your feedback. I've decided to keep my 15400 for now until I am certain on the 15202. As I can see from the votes and your feedback taste is really personal and there are advantages on both sides.
