It's too late. Whether you call it spoiled or privileged, the watch is his.

KyleL was wearing Rolex and Omega watches at an early age and he seems to have turned out okay.
Again, he asked a question and I answered it. Given that Noah wasn't satisfied with the simple "no" in the post that preceded mine, I explained exactly why I disagreed with a child receiving such an expensive gift. I'm not sure why this is cause for consternation on your part, but I'll leave you to grapple with that issue on your own.

Grady is correct. Some people offering assertions in condescending tones have no idea of this particular teen and his lifestyle and family. We can offer opinions without being rude. Wealth is not the issue, it is common human decency and respect to other TRF members.

The question is why would a 16 yr old want to wear a AP?? I doubt his peers will even notice.. In fact I would be the first to make fun of him .... Act your age! I would never let my 16 yr old wear one.... And I can afford it, fastest way to ruining a kid....what's the hurry ?

The answer to your question is yes, a 16 year old can wear an AP.

I was interested to see how it looked and it looks good Noah.

Judging from your posts I am sure you will know when and when not to wear it.

Judging from Adams posts he doesn't know when and when not to let go.

I'm in the minority, but it seems a bit decadent for a child to wear such an expensive time piece.

There is no consternation on my part.

I just think that you are out of line and I have shared that opinion with you.

I shall bear this in mind the next time my opinion is solicited in this forum and will modify my answer so as not to offend your delicate sensibilities.

Fair?

My sensibilities have not been offended. I just thought that my opinion would be equally valuable to you as your opinion might be to the OP.

I'm sure the OP feels as you feel then.

He handled it better, though.

The difference here is that Noah asked for my opinion. If I had wanted yours, I would have given it to you first.

Anyway, if you would like to continue this scintillating back and forth, shoot me a PM; I think we've run our course here.

Dude, wear the shit out of that watch and don't pay anyone no mind! Ask for a Ferrari when you graduate college. I wish my parents had jack like that. Bless you. Just don't be a jerk.

Noah_S, if you like the watch, and you feel safe wearing it, then wear it 24/7 to your heart's content!! i bet 99% of people wont recognize the watch or who makes it. you're 16 years old and therefore presumably mature enough to drive a 4000 pound missile (aka a CAR), at least according to the state of PA. wear the watch responsibly, and drive responsibly. don't be obnoxious and flash the watch's worth around or you're asking for trouble. same thing can be said if you're 16 or 86 years old.

I went to one of the wealthiest high schools in the world and would recommend holding off on that specific AP for daily wear. It will get noticed, and while driving an m3 or the like might be considered cool, I don't think that the AP will get you the attention you are looking for. I won't go into more detail but feel free to pm me.

I've come across many many people with very nice things and what they have never really impress me. What is impressive is how they treat people, no matter the social-economic class.

Firstly - big congrats - I loved watches from childhood but the nicest one I got was a $500 Gucci when I was 16 (it was awesome to me!)

I say look after your AP, wear it when it's appropriate (classy venues/areas, dinners, dates, formal events etc) and treat security as your primary concern, you don't want to go through the trauma of some lowlife spotting your watch and thinking you're an easy target. Either roll with some security or invest in some heavy weight insurance and err on the side of caution.

Good luck and best of luck with future endeavours!

I see 16 year olds in Saudi Arabia in Lamborghini Aventadors, Mclaren Mercedes SLR's etc so why not. AP's would look good on them too IMO.

Wear it whenever you feel to wear it and enjoy the beauty of this gift (as well as AP 15400 itself)
Some people judge by looks, dress and as I read here by age too. Some judge by behaviour. Just by asking the forum and explaining how the Rolex works on your wrist you proved that you are way ahead as watchlover as most of us (I tend to say) were at age of 16. ;)

Congrats and wear it in good health!

Can not help but ask the question: IS IT SAFE to wear Submariner as daily beater at age of 39 when my deepest dive was like 20ft?
