Want some opinions....

So I actually found a AD here and he offered me a SD 2003 for $3700.00. It's in excellent condition and even has paperwork to go with it it even has the sticker still on the band and looks like it hasn't even been worn at all. Question I have is

1) Should I have them remove the cover and check the internals just in case

2) Service it as part of the deal

3) Buy the damn thing and get the agony over with

It's damn tempting...they even have a black sub with date but no papers too for the same price....looks even newer too......I'm considering offering for two of them at the same time.......

Tom,

I just read a ADD from Shaun Bozorg in FL (very well known Gray dealer) and he is offering brand new piece for $4125 delivered..It is something to consider-you would NOT pay sales tax and you will be the first owner-I guess money well spent...:)

Good Luck,

Bob P.

That's a tough one. ( At least for me)
I prefer the Sub with Date.
Doesn't hurt to ask them if the watch has been serviced. If they are an AD, they should service it before you buy it.
Wait a day, this board will light up with suggestions from more experienced guys around her.

That watch at $3400-$3575 on most SC's is a great deal.

At $3700 from an AD, not so good as $400 more will get you into a brand new one as Bob said.

$500 Is my physcological cutoff between new and like new-used.

For whatever reason if I am $500 or more under the price of a bnib model, I feel like I am getting a good deal. Go figure........

Agreed! Rather pay that little extra and get a brand new one. Mansor's is offering me a brand new Sub-date 16610 for the equivalent of around US$4,000!!

Tom, I'd personally prefer to buy from an AD especially if the watch is used. Just my 2 cents. Good luck

By the way, this is my 400th post. I think I'm becoming a shut in.

Well being that I have to drop some money for another watch winder, I think'll it breaks even at 4000 or so. Even though the gray dealer is brand new, this Sea Dweller looks and probably is too. Like I said, teh stickers are still on the stainless band. Plus this is Hawaii, everything is more expensive here than on the mainland. But thanks for all the input. I'll have to think about it for a while and see.

Well the watch is at most 3 years old ,and you say it looks mint, doubt if it has ever been used for diving,so would not need service yet.Buying from a Ad you will have know problems, but for a few dollars more you could buy new.See if your AD will come down a bit in price, don't be afraid to haggle.

I did haggle them down a bit, in fact they wanted $4000 for it, and it took a while, but he went down to 37 after going to the back room twice. i still have to consider the 4% state tax too, so in all, looking aat about 3840 I'm figuring. It is a good idea, drop a little more down, go for a new one but......I gotta think about it. Like I said before, he also has the sub with date, I could offer for both
