Strolling down 5th Ave and I see...

Rolex and Omega. I saw the blue Milgauss and had it on my wrist. I placed my name on the waiting list and was told it would take about 6 months before I would hear anything back. Retail is $8,200.

I then went to Omega and tried on the Seamaster 300m Diver and the 600m titanium. I have to say that the 600m titanium (in blue, of course!) is an incredible watch, and I believe the retail was $8,400.

Now the dilemma starts!

ps - my wife said that my ears turned red all up and down 5th Ave, and she thinks I had at least 2 "watchgasms" in public.

As someone with a Milgauss GV, it's one of the pieces I'll likely never part with, I love everything about it. Personally there is no comparison between the Milgauss and the Seamaster to me, I would wait out the blue Millauss or seek one here.

I didn't the same too! Quote of day was, "the wait is so long, that you will pay the higher price after the price increase".

Anyone with experience of the regular GV who's handled the new GV Z care to share their thoughts? I am intrigued by this one!

Looks better to me with out the green tint in the crystal. It is a lovely looking watch.

I thought the Z was beautiful. If I didn't own the GV already, I would strongly consider it. However, I'm very conservative and choose the GV because it looks the least like a rolex. Whereas, the shimmer of the Z makes it more eye catching (eg flashy).

It's really what you prefer. But, in person I was shocked at how gorgeous the Z was. The green isn't as noticeable as on the GV. And the dial takes on an icy white glacier color. Stunning.

Six months? Are you locked in with a deposit? What happens if you change your mind? Six months is a long time. Quite a few people here on TRF seem to be already wearing them, too.

Yes, 6 months but could be shorter. And Rolex did not take a deposit, only my info and gave me documentation that I was placed in queue.
