Another scam? Anyone know how it works?

After some guys trying to set up an ambush on me and my 4 watches on sale, see thread "offered more than asking price", I have received yesterday an email from a guy saying that he transferred the funds for the watch, and to please click on a link to see the receipt of the bank wire transfer.

First I haven't been in any serious dealing with any buyer, so no one made any proposal.

Second never heard of this Martin.

When I tried to click on the link my anti virus stopped the page from opening saying there was a virus.

Does anyone know how this scam works and what they are hoping to get/steal/con from me?

Plus the link you sent me contains a virus, so impossible to open.

Any ideas anyone? Must say that after the attempted ambush, and this which is clearly a kind of scam it starts to make a lot

The scam may have nothing to so with your watches and everything to do with getting you to download the virus/malware !

If the virus allows them to access your PC, no need to give them your back account or address, as they will just take what they want. I for one would never have even clicked on the link. If I didn't give anyone my bank info, that would be hint one. And to check to see if the money was in my account, my account is the only place I'd look, not some receipt sent to me by someone I don't know.

I have a MacBook Pro and for antivirus Intego, seems to be working fine, never have anything special, and even by clicking on it, it was this morning at 07.00 was just waking up and not to the fullest of my capacities it told me on the spot that it was a virus...

No, you have it all wrong! You send them an email saying you got the money just fine and then ask them where to send the Rolex. Once you have the address you get to have all sorts of fun!

It looks like they're just trying to infect your computer and has nothing to do with a watch. Better to just delete emails you don't recognize.

Seriously, you seem to attract interesting buyers. Maybe it's the advert?

Since the file is on Microsoft's One Drive cloud service, maybe you should report it to their security/malware group? It is only dangerous to people who leave their system permanently logged into One Drive.
